JOINING CUB SCOUTS IS AN ADVENTURE - IN FUN!

In Cub Scouting, boys and their families have fun and adventure in a program that builds character and instills values. Cub Scouting embraces the values of citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility. These values come to boys in all parts of the Cub Scout program—all while they're having a great time with their friends and families. Boys may join cub scouts at any time during 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grades.

WHAT DUES / FEES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH JOINING?

The yearly dues to join Batavia Cub Scout Pack 153 for boys in the First through Fifth Grades, attending J.B. Nelson Elementary School, is $35. Please make your check payable to "Cub Scout Pack 153". Additionally each Scout is asked to sell $300 worth of Trails End Popcorn each Fall to raise money to help fund year-round District and Pack activities. A popcorn buyout option is available, but selling $300 worth of popcorn is not that difficult.

In addition you will need to fill out a "New Youth Application", available as a PDF by clicking here. For 1st Grade Tiger Cub Scouts, a Tiger Cub Partner is required for each child. Meaning an adult attends meetings with the Tiger Scout.

Cub Scout Handbook (either Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or Webleos Handbook, based upon age of child) Neckerchief (either Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or Webleos, based upon age of child) Boys Life Magazine subscription Insignia Patches (1st time only) (1) World Crest (2) Three Fires Council (3) Pack Numerals "153" Accident Insurance Provided through the national organization for all scout-sponsored events.	Navy Blue S/S Scout Shirt - $23.00 buy a larger short sleeved shirt so the scout can "grow into it", as this shirt will last all throughout cub scouting. Neckerchief Slide - $4.00 (either Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or Webleos, based upon age of child; will need to buy a new one as scout advances each year) Insignias (1) Den Number - $1.49 Red "Brag" Vest - $15.00 Optional and used to attach various patches earned (for Pine Wood Derby, Camp-o-rama, Popcorn sales, etc.) Red "Brag" Vest Patch - $2.75 (placed on the back center of the vest)
